So I know I have been MIA for a while and I have no excuse. I’ve been lazy and that’s the truth. I have been working on other projects and neglected this. So I take all the blame but I am back and I am here to stay, Hopefully lol.
Since I’m coming back what better way then to start back up again with a drama talk Tuesday because, I’m saying this, the best drama just ended and I need to talk about it.
Seven Day Queen. Oh my Gosh was it a good drama. It was perfect in every way right down to the ending scene. I knew right from the beginning that I was going to cry in the finale and sure enough I did lol.
First off if you do not know about Seven Day Queen what are you doing. You need to watch stop and go watch it right now. Lucky for you the drama has already ended and you can marathon it instead of waiting weeks after weeks to get your fix.
Seven Day Queen is base a true story about Lady Shin who married Prince JinSung and seven days after he became king she was stripped of her title as queen and exile. The drama tells the love story of the two lovers and political conflict that comes between them and their relationships. Park Min Young play Shin Chae Young, the queen and Yeon Woo Jin plays Lee Yeok, the prince.
Reasons I love This Drama:
- The writing: This is probably one of the best if not the best written Korean drama I have seen since ,well, ever.
- The Directing: This drama was beautiful. It was shot beautifully, the costumes were beautiful. Every thing about this drama was beautiful.
- The Acting: Oh my Gosh yes. I love both Park Min Young and Yeon Woo Jin before this drama but I think I love them even more after this drama. This drama would be so different without those two. I love how they portray the characters.
My Thoughts
I tried really hard not to fall in love with this drama but fail. I fell in love and I fell in love hard. Somewhere at the beginning of this drama I knew I was screw. I think it was around episode two or three when the younger actors were still in it when I realized I like this drama, I mean, I really like it. That was also when I realized it is based on history and I knew it was not going to like how it ends. Even with the ending in sight I still watched it because I was already sucked in. It was just to good.
I love the two main characters and their understanding and trust for each other. Just when I think there is going to be a misunderstanding between the couple, the characters surprise me my trying to be understanding and learning the truth instead of jumping to conclusion. There was nothing frustrating about the drama that bothers me. It kept me on my toes every week. I love the extent they are willing to sacrifice to save the other.
Shin Chae Young was such an amazing character and Park Min Young could not have play her any better. She is one of my favorable heroin ever and a part of that is what makes me love this drama so much. She makes her own decision, she tries to see the good in everything. Yes she was a little naive in the beginning but she is willing to die to save the person she love. When you think she was going to hate Lee Yeok after finding out his secrets she does the opposite. Instead of letting people decided her fate she makes the decision for herself, Ex. her tattoo. I cannot say anything bad thing about her because she is just awesome in every way.
Lee Yeok. What can I say about him. He is pretty awesome too. I just love him and Yeon Woo Jin was so good in this. He went through so much, it was his love for Chae Young that kept him alive and it was his love for her that made him give up his revenge to become king. He never wanted to be king. He just wanted to be with Chae Young. If it was not the for the pressure of others he would easily give up his position as king just to be with her. He rather lose his position then lose her. Her trust means so much more to him then anything else and that is why I love his character. All he ever wanted was a normal life with the one he love.
It’s the love between these two that make me love this drama so much more.

It was bittersweet watching the final episode because I knew they will have to separate and when they did I was a hot mess. The ending was done so perfectly that I would have it another way.
I can’t talk about then ending without spoiling it so take my words it was perfect. Usually when a drama ends I am left unsatisfied and wanting more of a closer. But with this drama I was completely satisfied. it was the perfect closer to a more that perfect drama.
It surprised me the rating was so low but you know what, rating means nothing when you find some you love.
So if you are in the market for a new drama and you haven’t seen Seven Day Queen yet then I suggest you start. You won’t be disappointed, well at least I wan’t.
Love,

Mai
