How to Apply Eyeliner to Hooded Eyelids

I have really hooded eyelids. My eyelids are also a little droopy so applying eyeliner can be a little tricky. As much as I would love to pull off wing eyeliner, like most people, personally I don’t think wing eyeliner looks good on me. I’ve tried and attempted many times before to make it work but I just couldn’t. Maybe one day it will but as a right now I don’t like how wing eyeliner looks on me.

If I were to do a wing, the eyeliner could get lost and all you see is hat little flick at the end. To me that looks weird. There are so many people out there who looks amazing with wing eyeliner but I am not one of them. I stick to the plain line eyeliner. To me that’s the most flattering and it fits my styles the best. Rather than making my eyes look longer, I prefer them to look bigger and rounder. A little bit may be because I love the Asian look especial Korean beauty and a little bit of it is just personal preference. I love the natural look of an everyday eye. Something that looks like you put a little effort in but also looks natural. That is my I choose to stick with simple easy way.

To get the eyeliner I want I either use an eyeliner pencil or and eyeliner marker/pen. An eyeliner pencil is easier to work with but it is not transfer-proof  and most of the time it smudge. So when you have hood eyelids like me it will end up transferring on my eyelids. An eyeliner marker can be smudge proof and not transfer but it can be little tricky to work with depending on if its a felt or brush tip.

There is a difference whether you are using a liquid liner or a pencil. With a pencil I can do draw my eyeliner with just a straight line. With a marker I need to work in sections to get the maximum opacity and also so I don’t mess up, which happens more often then not. When I use a eyeliner pencil my lines tends to come out thicker depending on how sharp the tip is, but the lines is smoother and gives a more matte look. When I use a liquid eyeliner I can line it really close to my lash line, unless I mess up then the line gets bigger lol. Either way there are pros and cons to both method and I like both depending on the day an look I’m going for.

Once the top liner is done I will tight-line my top waterline. After I do my top liner I will then line my water line with either a black or brown eyeliner pencil. To set the eyeliner I would then use a brown eye shadow and blend the bottom liner and smoke it out. Then add mascara and the eye look is complete.

This is a really simple and easy way to apply eyeliner. I have been doing my eyeliner this way for a while now and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon.
